India’s crafts are more than beautiful handmade objects they are living traditions shaped by people, places, and generations of knowledge. Yet many artisan communities remain disconnected from the opportunities, recognition, and markets they deserve.
Our journey began with a simple belief: meaningful connections can create meaningful change.
As an initiative of Manthan Sansthan, we build bridges between artisans and the world through thoughtfully designed craft experiences, collaborations, and creative projects. Backed by years of grassroot work with craft communities across India, we believe that the best way to understand a craft is to experience it alongside the people who practice it.
Our craft journeys are not about ticking destinations off a travel list. They are about slowing down, learning directly from artisans, understanding their stories, and appreciating the cultural knowledge that has been passed down through generations. Every visit becomes an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and contribute to local livelihoods in a respectful and meaningful way.
But our work goes beyond journeys.
We collaborate with designers, educational institutions, businesses, government bodies, and organisations to develop craft-based projects, support artisan skill development, curate exhibitions, document traditional knowledge, and create market opportunities for handmade products. We also help connect buyers with artisan communities, making it easier to work together across languages, locations, and production processes.
At the heart of everything we do is one purpose to create lasting value for craft communities while helping more people experience India’s living craft traditions in an authentic way.
Whether you join one of our journeys, partner with us on a project, or collaborate with an artisan, you become part of a growing community that believes craft is not just something to admire it is something to experience, support, and celebrate.
Together, we are building meaningful connections between people, practice, and place.
